About Manitoba Habitat Trust

Protecting Manitoba's natural ecosystems for wildlife and future generations through science, stewardship, and community collaboration.

Our Story

Manitoba Habitat Trust was founded with a clear mission: to protect and restore the province's diverse natural habitatsβ€”from the tallgrass prairies of the south to the boreal forests of the north, and from the wetlands of the Interlake region to the shores of Hudson Bay.

For over two decades, we have worked collaboratively with landowners, Indigenous communities, government agencies, and volunteers to conserve critical wildlife habitat. Our approach combines scientific rigor with on-the-ground stewardship, ensuring that every acre we protect delivers lasting conservation benefits.

Today, we are one of Manitoba's leading conservation organizations, with thousands of acres protected and a growing network of partners committed to preserving the province's natural heritage.

🌿

Our Mission

We are committed to evidence-based conservation, working with leading scientists and ecologists to ensure our efforts deliver measurable outcomes for biodiversity and ecosystem health.

🎯

Our Vision
